RESEARCH
I was given three different poets who, in their own perspectives and time periods, spoke about the growing force of technology in their own modern world, on each of their issues. A common trait I've seen is a unique paradox of freedom vs conformity from each author's perspective. While technology could be helpful could lead to an issue when it's used in a harmful way.
Free play studies
To get a better understanding of what I was going to create, my professor gave us a couple of days to work a free play studies to experiment with different elements. Using old magazines, books, color sheets, and stickers. I try to create interesting designs that I could apply once I get to my physical manipulation of text
Physical Thinking
This section is where I started to experiment with type printouts, cutting them up, crumbling them, twisting, stacking, different sizes.
Image gathering
Before starting on digital studies, we had to start gathering images and textures out in the world rather than grabbing from the internet.
direction/ideations
Included here are digital designs that were considered either as directions that never went through the ideation process due to not fitting the idea I wanted to convey, vs directions that went on to create a ton of ideations. Near the end of it, I considered the yellow design as my main direction and created a red and orange design to go along with it.

FINAL DESIGN
These are the final designs for the Against the Machine series. Each posters highlight a poet with a bold and in a section of their own. This design was to appear like a bunch of trash piled up on the ground of a street walk or even advertisements that were left on lamp posts that eventually got covered by others. To still have each design have a section where they are different was the words included in the background, each coming as a quote from the readings of their poems
