Researching the animals properties and what makes it unique via images to help determine areas to create interpretations of the horned owl. While also researching the images we also were task with to describe the owl with physical and characteristics attributes.

IDEATION/ITERATION
With the idea in mind I wanted to create the owl with my physical characteristics and implied characteristics. Such as the turn in its head being able to go 270 degrees, the owls vigilant look, its mysterious vibe, and etc.
FINAL
This is the final product of multiple refinements to the details of the neck, beak, and wings.
Part 2: interpretive phrase Ideation/iterations
While we were tasked with creating our creature mark, we were also given another part of this project was to create a scene with an interpretive phrase from a classmate. I received the interpretive phrase "Curious eyes glowing in the dark, the horned owl surveys his domain".

Color Studies
Color studies I went with a more of a cool night vibe, so having purple was a number one, but when considering the phrase, I wanted to also add in yellow since at night it's a common thing with horned owls having yellow eyes. I wanted to apply a kind of glowing in the night effect.
